Responsibilities

  • As an "R&D Engineer Prototyping & Testing", you are part of the Corporate Division Research & Development, which is responsible for company-wide research and innovation activities. This includes in particular the management and further development of the group-wide innovation program Idea2net. In this role, you actively shape the innovation program and thus significantly contribute to the company's future viability.
  • Software and technology development in the innovation context: You develop software prototypes in modern programming languages, use new approaches such as Agentic Coding, and evaluate innovative technologies from the fields of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, AI/Machine Learning, as well as robotics and automation.
  • Proof-of-Concept: You develop and test new technological approaches for innovative solutions in the logistics environment, thus demonstrating their potential for operational use.
  • Project Coordination & Collaboration: You coordinate sub-projects and work closely with specialist departments, national and international branches, as well as external research and development partners, both remotely and on-site.
  • Communication and Presentation: You present your work results appropriately to internal clients and, together with stakeholders, derive next steps and recommendations for action.
  • Further Development: You have a high willingness for continuous learning and professional and personal development. You supervise working students on their theses and in daily teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed studies in information technology, logistics, or a comparable field.
  • Experience in software development as well as development experience in at least one modern programming language.
  • Basic understanding of data representation and interpretation.
  • Knowledge of modern IT infrastructure, software architecture, and ideally initial contact with automation or robotics systems.
  • Technical curiosity and creative ideas for solving complex problems, as well as enjoyment of independent, structured work and teamwork.
  • Very good German and English skills, both written and spoken, complete your profile.
