R&D Senior Process Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

The R&D Senior Process Engineer will drive the Design to Value (DtV) agenda and process optimization at the Isando Plant. The candidate will take ownership of the product sustainability agenda, utilizing a technical background to lead formula design and factory trials while collaborating across global and regional teams.

MAIN DUTIES

• Lead technical R&D initiatives and process improvements to drive efficiency and sustainability.
• Process & Optimization: Drive and deliver the DtV agenda with a focus on Process engineering and optimization from an R&D perspective.
• Sustainability Management: Manage the Sustainability budget and updates; take ownership of the Product sustainability agenda in collaboration with AMESA and global teams.
• Technical Development: Lead formula design, lab/factory trials, process design, nutritional assessments, and shelf-life studies.
• Leadership & Training: Supervise and train WIL students to maintain final product specifications and drive the qualification of new raw materials.
• Commercialization: Manage the Technical stage gate process to meet commercialization approvals on time through cross-functional engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

Seeking a technically proficient and adaptable engineer with a background in food science or technology.

• Education & Experience: Degree or Diploma in Food Science, Food Technology or Engineering with 5+ years working experience in R&D or related technical functions.
• Core Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, planning, and reporting skills. Ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences.
