The Opportunity

In this role, you will develop a deep technical understanding of Unity products by working closely with development teams and the technologies themselves. You will leverage this understanding, along with your writing skills, to create content that explains and inspires. You will also collaborate with other writers to deliver a consistent and uniform content experience across products, establish coverage and style standards, learn from each other, and elevate the quality of writing at Unity.

What you'll do

• Create technical content sets (user and developer guides, API references, SDKs, code examples) for multiple products and features
• Collaborate with product managers and developers to understand the underlying technology of each feature, the target audience, and documentation needs
• Work with team members to ensure documentation is as clear, concise, accurate, and usable as possible
• Advocate for user needs during feature development to improve workflows and make products easier to use

What we're looking for

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Hold a strong technical understanding and hands-on experience with software development concepts and workflows
• Know how to transform complex technical concepts into clear, easy-to-understand, user-focused documentation
• Present a demonstrated history of delivering high-quality content in a fast-paced software development environment
• Effectively manage your time and work within a globally distributed team, maintaining active communication with colleagues and partners across different time zones

You might also have

• Possess experience with object-oriented programming languages, game development, digital art creation, or real-time 3D development
• Possess experience with version control software like Git or Subversion for managing file changes across different versions
