We are actively seeking an experienced, results-driven RECRUITER ASSISTANT, to be based out of our Fort McMurray (Fort McKay Caribou Industrial Park/Wood Buffalo Region) office as a member of our Human Resources Team that is motivated, committed and wants to grow with us. It is important that we have our assistant on site, and in person; this is not a remote position.
The Recruiter Assistant is a vital role that supports the recruiting team within the organization. The Assistant will have the desire and ability work independently and as part of a team. A Recruiter Assistant is focused on helping accomplish recruitment-related tasks and is the backbone and organizer of the recruitment team.

The Recruiter Assistant will be expected to work 8 hours per day, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
As a Recruiter Assistant YOU will:
- Set up and maintain the recruitment process in the Human Resource Management System
- Keep detailed records regarding candidates and recruiting campaigns & events
- Provide communications to applicants throughout the recruitment process, offering a positive experience and inform them of the status of their employment possibilities, consideration and selection
- Develop and maintain position descriptions and job duties
- Contact potential candidates to schedule interviews
- Hold preliminary interviews on the phone or in person
- Participate in the interview process as requested
- Conduct reference checks
- Develop, maintain and present reports, spreadsheets and HR/recruitment tracking systems
Qualifications
What we need from YOU:
- A minimum of 2 years of administrative assistant experience
- Relevant, progressive experience in recruitment would be considered an asset
- Certificate or diploma in Office Administration, Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent experience
- Ability to understand and contribute to the development of policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently with significant initiative
- Ability to work closely and openly within the team, being cross-trained within the department
- Ability to use systems, tools and skills, organize workload, meet strict, tight deadlines and prioritize a diverse workload
- Ability to adapt to changing environments quickly, analyze, assess and make appropriate recommendations
- Demonstrate high standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
- Outstanding verbal and written communication
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of Products; including Power Point and other presentation software
- Knowledge and experience with ADP would be considered an asset
- Strong ability to navigate social media and the intranet
As part of our Hiring Process, YOU will be asked to:
- Provide a minimum of a Class 5 Driver's License and clean Driver's Abstract
- Provide a criminal record check
- Complete drug and alcohol screening with a negative result
- Complete a fitness evaluation related specifically to your position
- Provide copies of current certifications (if you do not have any of the training required to be on site, we will provide it for you)
