Chipton-Ross is seeking a Shipyard Recruiter for a contract opportunity in Green Bay, WI.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of recruiting experience, preferably in the shipbuilding, maritime, or heavy industrial sector.
- Strong understanding of skilled trades, including welders, pipefitters, electricians, and other marine labor roles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Proficiency in using recruitment software and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop and execute targeted recruiting strategies to attract qualified skilled trades and technical candidates for shipyard operations.
- Source candidates through job boards, career fairs, social media, community outreach, and industry networks.
- Screen resumes and conduct phone interviews to assess candidate qualifications and suitability for shipyard roles.
- Coordinate interviews, trade testing, and onboarding logistics with hiring managers and operations staff.
- Maintain compliance with labor regulations, hiring standards, and company procedures throughout the recruiting process.
- Build and sustain talent pipelines to meet current and future labor demands.
- Track and report on recruiting activity, candidate flow, and hiring outcomes.
Desired Experience
- Experience recruiting for maritime, shipbuilding, or industrial trades.
- Familiarity with union environments, security clearance processes, and trade certifications.
Required Education
- Accredited HSD/GED
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is highly preferred.
