About the role
Job Summary
The Recruiter's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, establishing and administering programs for targeting and recruiting students. The Recruiter will organize and attend college events, build effective partnerships within the community, and participate in transfer fairs. This position will support the enrollment efforts of LIT by providing admissions information to prospective or new students. This is an exempt-level position and reports directly to the AVP of Student Services.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Create communication plan for outreach to prospective and applied students.
- Assist students with admissions process, holds, Texas success initiative assessment (TSI), and general information on major.
- Participates in the development of student recruitment and retention plans, strategies, and written materials.
- Utilize Mainstay with different interactive & non-interactive campaigns along to engage with students.
- Visits middle schools, high schools, and colleges, speaks to groups and individual students, meets with school counselors to promote outreach activities; coordinates community workshops and retreats; arranges visits from prospective students and parents.
- Serves as a liaison to develop partnerships between LIT and local school systems.
- Creates a database of prospective and current students.
- Creates and distributes resource materials for student recruitment, analyzes trends in recruitment, develop strategies for program evaluation.
- Prepares reports and proposals, and responds to inquiries from students.
- Develops operating goals and objectives, implements and administers methods and procedures to enhance operations, as appropriate.
- Offer exceptional customer service in a student-centered, professional environment at all times.
- Perform related duties as required or deemed necessary to meet the Recruitment goals within the scope of responsibility.
- Upholds and agrees to comply with all federal, state, and local requirements pertaining to the security, confidentiality, and privacy of information maintained by institution, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Evenings and weekends may be required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- An associate’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
- One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Three years of experience as a college recruiter from an accredited college or university.
Supplemental Information
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the ability to: remain in a stationary position for most of the time; occasionally move about inside an office to access documents, office equipment, etc.; constantly operate a computer or other office equipment, such as a printer or copy machine.
