About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and adaptable Recruitment / HR Generalist to support our growing team. This part-time contractor role will focus on both strategic and hands-on HR tasks, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will have a strong HR background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment (60%)

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process: sourcing, screening, interviewing, and coordinating offers for all our clients in multiple industries.
  • Collaborate with client hiring managers to identify staffing needs and define job descriptions.
  • Post job advertisements on various platforms and manage applicant tracking systems.
  • Conduct reference and background checks.
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new hires.

HR Generalist Duties (40%)

  • Maintain and update employee records and HR documentation.
  • Provide guidance to contractors and employees on HR policies, procedures, and compliance.
  • Assist with performance management processes and employee relations.
  • Monitor contractor timesheets, contracts, and renewals.
  • Stay up to date with employment laws and HR best practices in relevant jurisdictions.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in recruitment and generalist HR functions.
  • Familiarity with employment legislation across Canada and/or the U.S. is a strong asset.
  • Experience working as an independent contractor.
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms, HRIS systems, and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities independently and work with minimal supervision.

Nice to Have:

  • HR Degree, Bachelor or Diploma from an accredited university.
  • Experience supporting HR in a remote or hybrid workforce.
  • Background in HR consulting or agency settings.
  • Flexible hours; schedule may vary based on needs.
  • Hourly rate: $28.00
  • Contractor is responsible for own taxes, insurance, and equipment.
