Sourcing Assistant (Contract)

Position Overview:

PPEG Staffing & Recruiting is partnering with a valued client to identify a motivated and detail-oriented Sourcing Assistant for a 2–3 month contract engagement. This role will support the client’s recruiting efforts by sourcing passive candidates—particularly within rural communities—while assisting with initial candidate screening and communication with hiring teams. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys research, outreach, and candidate interaction in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and identify passive candidates using Indeed and internal databases
• Focus outreach efforts on talent within rural and hard-to-reach communities
• Conduct initial candidate outreach and engagement
• Perform first-round interviews to assess candidate qualifications and fit
• Clearly and effectively communicate candidate insights—both verbally and in writing—to client hiring teams
• Maintain accurate candidate records and activity tracking within internal systems
• Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to support hiring needs and timelines

Qualifications:

• 1+ year of experience in recruiting, sourcing, or a related administrative role preferred
• Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently conduct phone or virtual interviews
• Experience sourcing candidates via Indeed or similar platforms
• Ability to engage passive candidates and build rapport quickly
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or applicant tracking systems
