This allows our consultants to focus heavily on what truly drives placements and commission: building employer relationships, winning business, and managing recruitment processes from the client side.
About the Role & What You’ll Do
We are looking for an experienced Recruitment Business Development Consultant with a strong focus on client acquisition, employer relationship management, and placements.
This is not purely a telesales role, although strong outbound calling experience is essential.
This role is best suited to someone with experience in:
- 180 recruitment
- 360 recruitment with strong business development exposure
- telesales or telemarketing
- outbound B2B sales
- recruitment agency business development
Your primary focus will be identifying and securing Australian employers who are struggling to find skilled workers locally and introducing them to RecruitUp Global’s international recruitment solutions.
Once vacancies are secured, you will work alongside our Candidate Services Manager and support teams who assist with sourcing, headhunting, onboarding, compliance, and candidate preparation.
You will still manage the recruitment process, employer relationship, interviews, and placements, while having the support structure needed to grow and scale your desk faster.
What You’ll Do
- Cold call Australian employers daily across trades, construction, mining, refrigeration, agriculture, and technical sectors
- Build long-term relationships with business owners, hiring managers, and operational leaders
- Introduce RecruitUp Global’s international recruitment services
- Identify hiring needs and secure recruitment opportunities
- Negotiate and secure Terms of Business agreements
- Manage client relationships from first contact through to placement
- Work closely with our Candidate Services Manager who assists with sourcing and headhunting suitable talent
- Coordinate interviews between candidates and employers
- Guide employers through the recruitment and sponsorship process together with our Australian-based leadership team and migration partners
- Develop and grow your own recruitment desk
- Follow up consistently with both clients and candidates throughout the recruitment lifecycle
- Keep CRM and ATS records accurate and updated
- Collaborate with internal support teams across South Africa and Australia
Desired Experience & Qualification
Essential
- Minimum 2 years recruitment agency experience with exposure to business development and employer relationship management OR
- Strong telesales, telemarketing, or outbound B2B sales experience combined with recruitment exposure
- Proven ability to cold call and build business relationships
- Strong communication skills in Afrikaans and English
- Comfortable speaking with Australian employers professionally and confidently
- Target-driven and commission motivated
- Strong administration and follow-up ability
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Experience using CRMs, ATS systems, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Highly Advantageous
- Full 360 recruitment experience
- Trades, mining, construction, refrigeration, engineering, or agriculture recruitment experience
- International recruitment experience
- Existing employer network
- Experience working with sponsorship or relocation recruitment
What We’re Looking For
We want someone commercially minded, resilient, confident on the phone, and excited by the challenge of building something meaningful.
You must be comfortable with outbound calling and business development. Some days will involve high call volumes, follow-ups, negotiations, and handling rejection. Other days you may secure a new employer partnership that leads to multiple placements and long-term repeat business.
This role suits someone entrepreneurial who enjoys relationship-building, closing deals, and growing their own desk with the support of an experienced internal team.
