About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and driven Recruitment Team Lead to join this growing team. This is a senior-level recruitment role that combines hands-on headhunting with team leadership, coaching, and performance management. You will be responsible for driving proactive sourcing strategies, leading a team of recruiters, and ensuring a high standard of candidate engagement and follow-through across the recruitment pipeline.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Working Hours: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST (15:00 PM – 00:00 AM South African time – subject to daylight savings)
- Kindly note that you may be required to work rotational schedules for weekends, but this will be communicated with you within sufficient time.
- Public Holidays: This role requires working on both South African and U.S. public holidays (compensation for SA public holidays in accordance with the BCEA).
- Internet Requirements: A fixed fibre line with a minimum speed of 25 Mbps (upload & download) and wired Ethernet capability is mandatory. Applicants without a fixed fibre line cannot be considered.
- Power Backup: Reliable backup required to manage load shedding or outages. Applicants without a power backup cannot be considered.
- Work Environment: Fully remote.
- Kindly note this is NOT a commission-based role.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to):
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, coach, and manage a team of recruiters to improve overall performance, activity levels, and output.
- Monitor team KPIs and hold recruiters accountable for consistent follow-up and candidate engagement.
- Provide ongoing training, mentorship, and onboarding support for new and junior recruiters.
- Identify performance gaps and implement corrective action plans where necessary.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex requisitions and recruiter queries.
Recruitment & Headhunting
- Drive proactive headhunting and sourcing strategies, moving beyond inbound leads.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process from sourcing through to placement for senior or high-priority roles.
- Conduct briefing sessions with internal stakeholders and clients to understand role requirements.
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with candidates throughout the hiring journey.
- Ensure the candidate database is actively managed, up to date, and fully utilised.
Strategy & Reporting
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies aligned with client hiring needs in the US healthcare and therapy staffing sector.
- Track and report on recruitment metrics including activity levels, pipeline health, interview ratios, and placements.
- Identify bottlenecks in the recruitment pipeline and implement process improvements.
- Contribute to strategic proposals and initiatives, such as LinkedIn Recruiter upgrade justifications and sourcing tool evaluations.
- Collaborate with the Account Manager and leadership to align on hiring priorities and team direction.
Requirements
Experience
- Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment, with at least 1–2 years in a senior or lead capacity, including coaching and managing recruiters.
- Strong headhunting and proactive sourcing background – this is not a reactive, inbound-only role.
- Experience recruiting within the US market is preferred.
- Experience in the medical/healthcare or therapy staffing field is advantageous.

- Strong closing skills combined with the ability to drive and inspire team performance.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail, follow-through, and accountability.
- Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities in a fully remote environment.

Technical Skills
- Proficiency with LinkedIn Recruiter and ATS/CRM platforms.
- Comfortable navigating recruitment systems and tracking platforms.
- Basic MS Office proficiency including Outlook.
