Position • Working from our Cape Town branch office, doing business in the Western Cape area. • Sales visits to end users, system integrators, consultants, and OEMs to identify sales opportunities and projects in all kinds of industries. • Developing professional relationships with Key Decision Makers in our target market. • Use your technical knowledge, developed skills, creativity, and understanding of our existing or potential customers’ business to enable you to identify possible challenges the customer faces and turn these into sales opportunities. • Presentation of technical solutions to customers, addressing the customer’s challenges and needs. • Build and maintain friendly relationships within ifm globally and with our customers at all levels, including owners, executives, as well as engineering, production, and procurement staff, etc. • Maintain your customers on our CRM system, including quotations, appointments, and visit reports.

Skills & Experience Required • 4-5 years’ experience, preferably in the process control or industrial automation industry associated with manufacturing. Experience in the Food and Beverage Industries will be an added advantage. • Relevant tertiary qualification or technical qualification • Knowledge in the application of sensors, instrumentation, automation, and networking solutions that can be related and discussed as features and benefits across industry and industries in general. • Keen interest in digitalization and Industry 4.0 and future trends in the Automation and Engineering Industry • Demonstrable sales ability, although sales experience is not a necessity. • A willingness to learn and recreate your knowledge in this fast-changing technical environment. • Strong verbal and written communication skills. • Attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to work with various teams as well as independently. • Proficiency with Microsoft products. • Willingness to travel.

Roles & Responsibilities • Undertake the responsibility of customers assigned, maintain and grow this customer group. • All aspects of sales and after-sales support, technical and administrative. • Reporting and data management within CRM according to company policies and guidelines • Strong Time management, ability to prioritize and forecast workload. • Strong communication skills and collaboration within ifm and externally to IFM. (In Person, written, virtual, telephonically, and e-mail). • Continually Develop knowledge of ifm products and be able to discuss key features and benefits. • Self-learning and assessment using the prescribed methods and channels (WCSO/MHG) • Find and track Opportunities, Develop new customers and Business for ifm • Project management related to sales and after-sales activities. • The ability to share knowledge and information to promote ifm’s business across the entire ifm sales territory locally, nationally, and at times globally. • Attend and assist in exhibitions, campaigns, road shows, and general marketing-related activities. • Maintain a business-related presence on social media to promote ifm e.g., LinkedIn, WhatsApp status, etc.
