About the role

Summary

The Regional Supplier Quality Engineer is an engineering role responsible for the quality level of suppliers and purchased material, and supports product quality, reliability, and safety throughout the product lifecycle by developing and applying quality control processes, analyzing performance data, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement. The position focuses on enhancing inspection methods, mitigating risk, preventing failures and quality escapes, and ensuring regulatory compliance to protect product integrity, customer satisfaction, and the company’s reputation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supplier Quality Management Through Cooperation With Purchasing Will

  • Select and introduce new suppliers according to defined standards
  • Monitor and evaluate current supplier performance through data and KPI analysis, on site audits or visits (Vendor Rating Management)
  • Existing Supplier Quality standards - monitor correct application of existing standards and ensure strong alignment with group supplier quality to apply the defined group standards locally if not already implemented
  • New Supplier Quality standards - develop and implement new standards as required to cover identified gaps with existing standards while maintaining alignment with group guidelines

Incoming Material Inspection Management Through Cooperation With Logistics Will

  • Manage the definition of critical materials and check the materials during incoming deliveries
  • Perform detailed analysis of materials supplied and utilized
  • Analyze defective materials identified during incoming deliveries or production to notify suppliers and manage materials together with suppliers (e.g., issuing corrective actions)
  • Warehouse Quality management to guarantee defective material segregation both physically and in the ERP system

KPI And Data Analysis

  • Manage and monitor the main supplier quality performance indicators to guarantee data reliability and identify opportunities for corrective actions and improvement projects
  • Customer Claim Analysis - strong cooperation with Production Quality and Customer Quality to assist in analyzing customer claims with supplier origins and communicating information about supplier corrective actions to customers
  • Utilize Supplier PPM analysis in coordination with Production Quality managing defective parts and supporting activities to improve material quality
  • Perform Vendor Rating analysis in material quality to present a clear understanding of supplier performance and define strategies for underperforming suppliers

New Project Support

  • Provide strong cooperation with Product Development during new product homologation (including PPAP analysis where applicable) to support the definition and application of:
    • Accurate specifications appropriate for supplier processes
    • Suitable standards and process controls to ensure specification compliance
    • Identify potential supplier risks to be managed before new project launch

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor and evaluate material related product performance and reliability; investigate failures and develop corrective action plans
  • Design experiments (DOE) to assess critical-to-quality characteristics and improve material related product durability
  • Develop reliability requirements, acceleration models, and tools to identify potential issues early
  • Investigate nonconforming materials, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality
  • Analyze customer feedback, industry trends, and production data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Assist in FMEA development and control plan creation as well as statistical analysis to implement effective process controls and impactful process improvements
  • Manage and lead multiple projects working to deadlines effectively
  • Interpret electrical schematics and drawings; utilize inspection tools as needed
  • Perform routine and specialized visual, dimensional, and functional inspections on incoming materials, in-process components, and finished products using precision instruments
  • Develop detailed inspection plans for new and existing product materials, focusing on critical-to-quality characteristics
  • Accurately document inspection and test results for traceability and compliance
  • Prepare detailed reports on nonconformities, RMA data, process capability and failure rates; communicate findings to relevant teams and suppliers for corrective actions
  • Create reports, spreadsheets, graphs, and presentations to effectively communicate data analysis results and statistical process control
  • Review supplier processes and quality systems; conduct audits and ensure proper containment and certification of components
  • Collaborate with customer support teams to address material-related customer complaints, investigate quality-related issues, and implement corrective actions
  • Ensure products and processes meet ISO 9001 standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Support and conduct process audits to verify organizational adherence to quality procedures and safety standards
  • Analyze and visualize data using Microsoft Excel or other data analysis software (e.g., Minitab, XLSTAT, Analyse-It, etc.) to support decision-making
  • Manage cases and claims in Salesforce, process warranty orders and inventory movements in Oracle ERP, and access bills of materials for parts identification and product support
  • Train and coach operations staff on quality standards, inspection procedures, and reliability best practices to foster a culture of quality

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Education - 4-year BS degree in Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering, or related field or relevant experience.
  • Experience – 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience achieving certification or maintaining Quality Management Systems (QMS) certification. In-depth understanding of technical documentation. Experience in HVAC, electronics, controls, or industrial manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Statistical Analysis – Proficient in techniques and tools to analyze data and drive continuous improvement
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATIONS – Required

  • ISO 9001:2015 or ISO 9001:2026 Auditor
  • Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) – in progress or interest preferred
  • Reliability engineering coursework or experience
