About
The Release Train Engineer V facilitates release processes, coordination, and the execution of high-complexity Credit Card initiatives. This strategic role supports a new credit card launch and the conversion of an existing portfolio to a new technical stack. The successful candidate will work with various stakeholders across the enterprise to coordinate feature delivery, create end-to-end delivery roadmaps, and ensure the Client’s vision for emerging technical capabilities is realized. This is a high-visibility position involving multi-million dollar revenue-driving initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate Release Processes: Manage the coordination and execution of high-complexity Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
- Coordinate Feature Deployment: Analyze dependencies, architecture, and order to coordinate features to be deployed on the ART.
- Optimize Value Flow: Use tools such as Kanban to manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART.
- Lead PI Ceremonies: Establish and communicate Program Increments (PIs) and facilitate PI Readiness, System Demos, PI Planning, and Pre- and Post-PI Planning meetings.
- Stakeholder Management: Work with enterprise stakeholders to deliver on commitments and present status, risks, and feature financials to senior leadership.
- Risk & Impediment Management: Escalate impediments, manage risks, and drive relentless improvement across teams.
- Coaching & Leadership: Act as a subject matter expert to oversee, coach, and train professionals assigned to Agile teams.
Experience
- Overall Experience: 10+ years of professional experience.
- Industry Expertise: 10+ years of experience delivering high-complexity Credit Card features in Agile, cross-functional teams.
- Data Conversions: 5+ years of direct experience with data conversions (Credit Card industry preferred).
- Executive Presentation: 5+ years of experience presenting status, risks, and mitigations to senior leadership.
Skillsets
- Agile Proficiency: Deep understanding of Agile methodologies, ARTs, and PI management.
- Financial Management: Strong financial management skills related to project/feature delivery.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to succinctly "tell a story" to different levels of stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead through ambiguity.
- Risk Mitigation: Strong expertise in risk management and mitigation.
Education
- Post-secondary degree is considered an asset; however, relevant work experience is prioritized.
Additional Qualifications
- Certifications: PMP or Agile certifications (e.g., Certified SAFE Release Train Engineer, SAFE Program Consultant, or Certified Scrum Master) are highly preferred assets.
