About the role
Overview
Mural Group is partnering with a multi-site specialty metals manufacturer that produces high-performance alloys for aerospace, energy, and heavy industrial applications to hire a Senior Reliability Engineering Manager.
This is a corporate leadership role responsible for standardizing maintenance practices and improving equipment uptime across several legacy manufacturing plants. The focus is on building and executing a company-wide reliability strategy, not hands-on maintenance.
You will lead the rollout of an Asset Reliability Management Program, align plant teams to consistent preventive maintenance and RCA practices, and drive measurable improvements in uptime and equipment performance.
Responsibilities
Reliability Program Leadership
- Lead deployment of a multi-site Asset Reliability Management Program
- Standardize preventive maintenance, outage planning, and RCA practices
- Establish and track reliability KPIs across plants
- Drive accountability for uptime and maintenance performance
Multi-Site Leadership
- Manage 3 direct reports and influence a broader maintenance organization
- Partner with plant leaders and engineering teams
- Travel to sites to review performance and drive execution
Performance and Standards
- Identify gaps in maintenance performance and implement improvements
- Build and enforce maintenance and reliability standards
- Replicate best practices across sites
Systems and Execution
- Partner with CMMS teams to improve PM compliance and data accuracy
- Improve maintenance planning, scheduling, and work execution
Requirements
Industry Experience
- Background in steel, specialty metals, or heavy industrial manufacturing
- Experience with melt shops, furnaces, EAF, forging, or rolling mill environments
- Experience working with legacy equipment in capital-intensive plants
Technical and Leadership
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field
- 5+ years in reliability, maintenance, or industrial engineering leadership
- Experience implementing RCM or structured reliability programs
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Experience with CMMS systems. Maximo preferred

- Proven ability to lead across multiple sites without direct authority
- Comfortable driving change in established plant environments
- Strong communicator with plant and corporate stakeholders
- Focused on systems, standards, and long-term performance
