Role Overview

MIQA Leader & Reliability Engineer provides strategic leadership and hands-on technical direction to ensure mechanical integrity, quality assurance, and asset reliability across manufacturing operations worldwide.

This role drives EHS and regulatory compliance for process equipment, advances site MIQA maturity, and optimizes equipment performance to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) while minimizing downtime. The leader uses SAP/CMMS and standardized reliability practices to prioritize equipment repair/upgrade, implement foundational maintenance programs, and coordinate turnarounds and capital projects. The role also champions the Infrastructure Engineer framework to proactively manage risk and enhance asset integrity.

Key Responsibilities

Reliability Engineering & Asset Performance

  • Develop, lead, and implement programs, systems, processes, and equipment upgrades that improve equipment reliability and OEE.
  • Champion foundational Maintenance Reliability Programs: precision alignment, balancing, lubrication, oil analysis, and vibration analysis.
  • Apply engineering practices to perform failure analysis (RCFA/FMEA) and conduct equipment performance evaluations.
  • Participate in DuPont maintenance & reliability networks (or internal company networks) to share best practices and improve site reliability.
  • Provide Reliability Leadership and coaching to maintenance technicians and contractors; build frontline capability.
  • Standardize procedures and equipment within areas of responsibility to drive consistency and quality.
  • Support mechanical turnarounds/shutdowns with input on equipment inspection and repair procedures, scope readiness, and post-work verification.
  • Identify and support training needs for maintenance technicians and others in Reliability and Maintenance functions.
  • Analyze equipment trends and historical data to recommend improvements for lowest life-cycle cost (LCC).
  • Develop maintenance strategies and spare-part strategies (PM/PdM, critical spares) to prevent failures and meet production objectives.
  • Ensure processes are followed for updating equipment records in CMMS and maintenance plans; drive data quality and governance.
  • Use SAP tools to identify key equipment for repair/upgrade, prioritize work, and manage materials/spares; integrate SAP with CMMS workflows.
  • Support site capital projects with technical input for equipment selection, materials, installation, and commissioning standards.
  • Implement and steward the Infrastructure Engineer to proactively reduce risk and improve mechanical integrity.

MIQA Strategy, Governance & Leadership

  • Strategy Development
    • As part of the MIQA Core Group, develop MIQA strategy and COTs (Commitments/Objectives/Targets) in alignment with the R&M/MIQA Council.
    • Develop and communicate long-term strategy and short-term objectives for MIQA to advance sites to maturity (regulatory and policy compliance).
    • Collaborate with the Business R&M Leader to advance MIQA and R&M together efficiently, avoiding duplication and maximizing impact.
  • Leadership & Capability Building
    • Develop business-level capability to support MIQA work, spanning site personnel and leveraged business resources.
    • Provide input to succession plans and capability building plans; work with leadership to ensure appropriate COTs and development experiences.
    • Through training, reviews, and coaching, emphasize effective first-party audits and incident investigations to advance MIQA performance.
    • Monitor and analyze MIQA metrics/KPIs, audit results, and assessments; follow up with sites to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
    • Lead the business network of Site MIQA Leaders to ensure consistent processes and practices across sites; partner with site leadership on objectives/COTs.
    • Implement standard MIQA tools and approaches to optimize effort and accelerate maturity.
  • Integration & Systems
    • Partner with R&M, EHS, PSM, and Capital functions to collaboratively advance MIQA.
    • Work with business and corporate teams to deploy IT systems (SAP/CMMS/document control) effectively and generate value from MIQA data.
    • Support and champion cost and capital budgets tied to run/maintain, repair, and replacement needs identified in MIQA.
    • Lead business efforts on site MIQA integration during acquisitions and divestitures.
