Our client is at the vanguard of digital transformation and is actively seeking a talented Remote Cloud Security Engineer to fortify its cloud infrastructure. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cloud security principles and best practices, coupled with hands-on experience in securing major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security solutions for our cloud environments, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our data and applications. Key responsibilities include developing and enforcing security policies, implementing access control mechanisms, configuring security monitoring tools, conducting vulnerability assessments, and responding to security incidents in the cloud. You will also play a crucial role in architecting secure cloud solutions, advising development teams on security best practices, and automating security processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This role requires a proactive and self-motivated individual who thrives in a remote work setting, demonstrating excellent communication and collaboration skills. You will work closely with distributed teams, contributing to a culture of security awareness and continuous improvement. The ability to stay current with emerging cloud security threats and technologies is paramount. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in cloud security engineering (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Strong understanding of cloud networking, identity and access management (IAM), data encryption, and security monitoring. Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills for a remote environment. Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty, Azure Security Engineer Associate) are a plus.
