Your Role

As a Hands‑On Engineering Manager at RoomPriceGenie, you’ll lead a small team (3 engineers) working on data‑intensive systems that power key parts of our product.

These systems process large volumes of data and directly influence how our platform helps hotels make better pricing and revenue decisions.

This role is ideal for an early‑career Engineering Manager or an exceptional Senior, Staff or Tech Lead engineer ready to step into their first formal leadership role.

You’ll guide the team’s technical direction, support engineers in their growth, and remain technically engaged through design discussions, code reviews and hands‑on code contributions.

Working closely with Product and other engineering teams, you’ll help shape scalable systems that transform large volumes of data into reliable, high‑impact product capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, coach and support a small team of engineers working on data‑intensive systems and services.
• Drive the technical direction and delivery of projects that process, model or expose large‑scale datasets.
• Foster strong engineering practices around system reliability, data correctness, performance and maintainability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship, helping engineers grow in architecture, system design and data modeling.
• Stay technically engaged through code reviews, architecture discussions and coding.
• Collaborate closely with Product and other teams to ensure systems deliver meaningful product outcomes.
• Improve engineering processes and team practices to increase clarity, alignment and delivery velocity.
• Help evolve our data and platform architecture, improving scalability and operational simplicity.

Your Profile

• Strong experience building and operating production systems.
• Experience leading engineers or technical initiatives (for example as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer or Engineering Manager).
• Exceptional Senior, Staff or Tech Lead engineers with strong technical leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
• Comfortable staying technically involved while leading a team.
• Experience working with data platforms, distributed systems or large‑scale data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of system design, scalability and operational reliability.
• Experience with modern data tooling such as Snowflake, dbt, Dagster or similar technologies is a strong plus.
• Partner closely with the Product Manager to shape roadmaps, define technical approaches, and ensure the team delivers impactful and reliable product capabilities.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills you create clarity, ownership and trust within the team.
• Fluent in English and based in the European time zone (UTC+0 to UTC+2).
