About the role

Our client, a global leader in industrial manufacturing, is seeking a highly skilled Remote Industrial Engineering Specialist to drive process optimization initiatives. This role is fully remote, allowing you to contribute your expertise in improving efficiency, productivity, and quality across our manufacturing operations without geographical constraints. You will leverage your deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, lean manufacturing, and data analysis to identify and implement significant operational improvements.

Key Responsibilities: Analyze existing manufacturing processes, workflows, and operational data to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement. Design and implement optimized production layouts, material flow, and workstation designs using simulation tools and best practices. Apply lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to eliminate waste and improve productivity. Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in manufacturing operations. Conduct time and motion studies to establish standard times and improve labor utilization. Utilize statistical analysis and data visualization tools to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on process performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and supply chain, to implement process changes and ensure successful adoption. Research and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness. Develop business cases for process improvement projects, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculations. Train production staff and management on new processes, tools, and techniques. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in all process designs. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, operations management, or process improvement roles within a manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency in lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement tools. Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Arena, FlexSim) is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Proficiency in data analysis techniques and statistical software (e.g., Minitab, R, Python). Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and supply chain principles. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting. Proficiency in CAD software for layout design is a plus. Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies (Green Belt or Black Belt certification is an advantage). This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced industrial engineer to make a substantial impact on operational excellence from a remote location.
