Remote Lead AI Engineer - NLP

Our client, a cutting-edge AI research and development firm, is looking for a Remote Lead AI Engineer specializing in Natural Language Processing (NLP) to spearhead groundbreaking projects. As a leader in this fully remote role, you will guide a talented team of engineers and researchers in designing, developing, and deploying advanced NLP models and solutions. This position requires a deep technical expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and NLP, coupled with strong leadership capabilities and a passion for pushing the boundaries of artificial intelligence. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and implementation of state-of-the-art NLP models and algorithms (e.g., transformers, LSTMs, attention mechanisms). Architect robust and scalable AI systems for tasks such as text classification, sentiment analysis, named entity recognition, machine translation, and question answering. Mentor and manage a team of AI engineers and data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. Oversee the entire machine learning lifecycle, from data collection and preprocessing to model training, evaluation, and deployment. Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define project requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions. Conduct research on cutting-edge NLP techniques and explore their application to solve complex problems. Evaluate and integrate third-party NLP libraries and frameworks to enhance development efficiency. Ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of deployed AI models through rigorous testing and monitoring. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and NLP research and publications. Contribute to the company's intellectual property through patents and publications. Promote best practices in software engineering, MLOps, and AI ethics. Qualifications: Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 7 years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with a strong specialization in NLP. Proven experience leading technical teams and managing complex AI projects. Expertise in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras. Proficiency in programming languages like Python, and experience with relevant libraries (e.g., Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, NLTK, scikit-learn). Deep understanding of NLP concepts, algorithms, and architectures. Experience with large-scale data processing and distributed computing frameworks (e.g., Spark). Strong software engineering skills, including experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the capacity to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative team environment.
