About the role

Our client, a global leader in technological innovation, is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Remote Lead Electrical Engineer specializing in Embedded Systems. This is a fully remote position, offering an exceptional opportunity to lead cutting-edge projects from anywhere. You will be responsible for the architectural design, development, and validation of complex embedded hardware systems that form the core of our client's advanced products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of microcontroller architectures, low-power design, sensor integration, and firmware/hardware co-design.

As a Lead Engineer, you will guide a team of talented electrical engineers, providing technical direction, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative environment. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire product development lifecycle, from concept definition and feasibility studies through to schematic design, PCB layout oversight, prototyping, and production testing. You will play a crucial role in defining hardware requirements, selecting appropriate components, and ensuring system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS), communication protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet), and power management techniques is essential.

The role demands a strong aptitude for troubleshooting complex hardware and firmware issues, developing robust test plans, and performing rigorous validation. You will collaborate closely with software engineers, mechanical engineers, and product managers to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in embedded technologies, microcontrollers, FPGAs, and analog/digital circuits will be critical. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for effective leadership and collaboration within a distributed team. A proven track record of successfully delivering complex embedded systems projects from inception to market is a must. We are looking for a strategic thinker with exceptional technical depth and a passion for driving innovation in embedded systems design. This is a prime opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of technology and lead high-performing engineering teams in a dynamic, remote setting.

Qualifications: Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 12+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on embedded systems hardware design. Minimum of 4 years of experience in a technical leadership or team lead role. In-depth knowledge of microcontroller architectures (e.g., ARM Cortex-M), memory interfaces, and peripheral integration. Expertise in schematic capture, PCB layout principles, and signal integrity analysis. Experience with embedded firmware development and debugging is highly beneficial. Proficiency in using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers). Strong understanding of power management, low-power design techniques, and battery-operated systems. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for remote team leadership.
