Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Geothermal Engineer to spearhead innovative projects within the renewable energy sector. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute your expertise from anywhere. You will be instrumental in the design, development, and optimization of geothermal energy systems, focusing on sustainable and efficient power generation. Your responsibilities will encompass all phases of project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and resource assessment to detailed engineering design, construction oversight, and operational performance monitoring. You will leverage advanced modeling and simulation tools to analyze geological data, predict reservoir behavior, and optimize energy extraction processes.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the conceptualization and design of new geothermal power plants and retrofitting existing facilities.
  • Conducting detailed geological and geophysical surveys to identify and evaluate potential geothermal resources.
  • Developing and managing project scopes, budgets, and timelines for geothermal exploration and development.
  • Overseeing the engineering design of well drilling, completion, and production operations.
  • Implementing advanced reservoir management strategies to maximize energy yield and longevity.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant environmental regulations and safety standards.
  • Mentoring and guiding a team of engineers and geoscientists.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Geothermal Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geothermal resource development and power plant engineering.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex geothermal projects.
  • Expertise in reservoir simulation, wellbore design, and thermodynamics.
  • Strong understanding of geological principles and geophysical data interpretation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, essential for a remote team environment.
  • Proficiency in relevant software such as TOUGH2, Petrel, ArcGIS, and CAD tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines.
