Our client, a rapidly expanding technology firm, is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Information Security Engineer to join their entirely remote security division. This critical role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security systems and infrastructure to protect the company's digital assets and sensitive data. As a leader in a remote-first environment, you will guide a team and set the strategic direction for information security.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of security architecture, network security, cloud security, and risk management. You will be responsible for developing security strategies, overseeing security projects, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your leadership skills and ability to foster a collaborative remote team culture are paramount. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating potential security vulnerabilities before they can be exploited.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level information security solutions. Develop and execute security strategies and roadmaps in alignment with business objectives. Oversee security infrastructure, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and implement mitigation plans. Ensure compliance with relevant security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR). Lead and mentor a team of information security professionals in a remote setting. Manage security incidents, including investigation, remediation, and post-incident analysis. Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and tools. Collaborate with IT and development teams to integrate security into the SDLC. Develop and deliver security awareness training programs. Maintain up-to-date documentation of security policies, procedures, and systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 3 years in a lead or management role. Deep understanding of security architecture, network security, cryptography, and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP). Proven experience with security technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, WAF, and DLP. Strong knowledge of risk management frameworks and compliance requirements. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to drive projects, manage priorities, and work effectively in a remote team environment. Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CCSP) are highly desirable. Experience with scripting and automation for security tasks. This role is 100% remote, requiring a reliable internet connection and a home office setup.
