Our client, a global leader in optimizing industrial processes, is seeking a highly experienced and innovative Principal Industrial Engineer to join their fully remote team. This senior role is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of advanced manufacturing and production systems aimed at maximizing efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, supply chain optimization, and cutting‑edge automation technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, and optimization of complex industrial processes, workflows, and production systems.
- Develop and implement strategies for lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
- Design and evaluate factory layouts, material handling systems, and production equipment to optimize space utilization and workflow.
- Apply advanced modeling and simulation techniques to analyze system performance and identify potential bottlenecks or inefficiencies.
- Oversee the implementation of automation and advanced manufacturing technologies, ensuring seamless integration.
- Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and resources for industrial engineering initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including operations, engineering, IT, and supply chain, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost‑benefit analyses for proposed process improvements and technology investments.
- Mentor and guide junior industrial engineers and technical staff.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in industrial engineering, automation, and manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 12 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on process optimization, system design, and lean/Six Sigma implementation.
- Demonstrated expertise in leading large‑scale industrial engineering projects and driving significant operational improvements.
- In‑depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt certification preferred), and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., AnyLogic, Arena), CAD/CAM, and process mapping tools.
- Strong understanding of automation technologies, robotics, and Industry 4.0 concepts.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Superior communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven ability to work independently and lead remote teams effectively.
- Experience in (specific industry, e.g., Automotive, Aerospace, Consumer Goods) is highly desirable.
