Our client, a prominent player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an innovative and strategic Remote Product Manager to drive product development and market success. This fully remote position allows you to shape the future of our product portfolio from anywhere in Nigeria. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond, ensuring our offerings meet consumer needs and achieve business goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the FMCG market, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for creating compelling consumer products.
Key Responsibilities: Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with company objectives and market opportunities within the FMCG space. Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights to identify product gaps and opportunities. Develop detailed product requirements and specifications for new product development and line extensions. Collaborate closely with R&D, marketing, sales, and operations teams throughout the product development process. Oversee product launches, ensuring effective go-to-market strategies and cross-functional alignment. Manage the product P&L, monitor sales performance, and identify areas for optimization. Develop pricing strategies and promotional plans to maximize market share and profitability. Gather and analyze customer feedback to drive product improvements and innovation. Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and consumer behavior shifts in the FMCG sector. Work with supply chain and manufacturing teams to ensure product quality and efficient production. Prepare and present product strategies, performance updates, and business cases to senior management. Champion the product internally and externally, acting as a key subject matter expert. Develop and manage product lifecycle strategies, including end-of-life planning for mature products. Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards are met for all products. Collaborate with external agencies and partners as needed for product development and marketing. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Food Science, or a related field; MBA is a strong asset. Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, brand management, or a related role within the FMCG industry. Demonstrated success in launching and managing consumer products. Strong understanding of the FMCG market dynamics, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape. Excellent analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in market research tools and methodologies. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a remote setting. Experience with project management principles and tools. A passion for consumer products and understanding consumer needs.
