About the role

Our client, a leader in the sustainable energy sector, is seeking a driven and experienced Remote Renewable Energy Project Manager. This role is fully remote, offering the flexibility to manage and drive significant renewable energy projects from anywhere. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and stakeholder engagement to construction, commissioning, and project closeout, with a focus on initiatives in and around Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG and other strategic locations.

Responsibilities: Manage all phases of renewable energy projects (solar, wind, etc.), ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Coordinate effectively with internal teams (engineering, procurement, legal) and external stakeholders (suppliers, contractors, government agencies, local communities). Oversee the procurement process for equipment and services, including tendering, negotiation, and contract management. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and prepare financial reports. Facilitate regular project meetings and provide clear, concise status updates to senior management and clients. Lead site selection, feasibility studies, and permitting processes for new projects. Foster strong relationships with all project stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction. Stay abreast of advancements in renewable energy technologies, market trends, and policy developments. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Project Management, or a related field. Minimum of 5-7 years of project management experience, with a significant portion dedicated to renewable energy projects. Proven track record of successfully managing complex energy infrastructure projects from conception to completion. Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, project development processes, and supply chains. Excellent knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, Agile) and tools. Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and contract negotiation. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and thrive in a fast-paced, remote work environment. Experience with stakeholder engagement and managing relationships with diverse groups. Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing energy projects in Nigeria is a strong asset.
