About the role
Our client, a prominent name in the aviation industry, is seeking a highly experienced and technically adept Senior Aircraft Systems Engineer to join their team in a fully remote capacity. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the design, integration, and testing of complex aircraft systems for next-generation aircraft. You will be responsible for the engineering lifecycle of various aircraft systems, including but not limited to avionics, power, hydraulics, and environmental control systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in aerospace engineering, systems integration, and a deep understanding of aircraft operational requirements. Your role will involve defining system requirements, developing detailed designs, performing analyses (performance, reliability, safety), and overseeing system validation and verification activities. Collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams, manufacturing, and flight test personnel is crucial. As a remote engineer, you will need to be proactive, highly organized, and an excellent communicator, capable of driving complex technical tasks to completion without direct supervision. Experience with systems engineering methodologies, modeling and simulation tools (e.g., DOORS, MATLAB/Simulink), and aircraft certification processes is essential. If you are a visionary aerospace engineer passionate about advancing aircraft technology and thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities: Define and manage system requirements for aircraft systems. Develop and document detailed system designs and architecture. Perform system analysis, including performance, reliability, maintainability, and safety assessments. Oversee the integration and testing of aircraft systems. Collaborate with subsystem engineers, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams. Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and industry standards (e.g., FAA, EASA). Support troubleshooting of system issues during development, testing, and flight operations. Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations. Contribute to the development and application of systems engineering best practices. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft systems engineering. Proven expertise in the design, integration, and testing of complex aerospace systems. Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes. Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS). Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink). Knowledge of aviation regulations and certification requirements. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for remote work. Demonstrated ability to work independently and lead technical efforts in a remote setting.
