Remote Senior Construction Project Manager

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Construction Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from inception to completion. This is a fully remote, permanent position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within South Africa. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of construction methodologies, project planning, risk management, and budget control. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation. Oversee daily construction operations, coordinating with site supervisors, contractors, and suppliers. Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards. Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings, identifying and resolving potential issues proactively. Manage stakeholder communication, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and financials. Negotiate and administer contracts with vendors and subcontractors. Implement and monitor project management best practices, driving efficiency and continuous improvement. Perform risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions. Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, drawings, and specifications. Mentor and guide junior project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction project management. Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale commercial or residential construction projects. Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6). Strong understanding of contract law and risk management principles. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet demanding deadlines. Professional certifications such as PMP or LEED are highly desirable. Must be legally eligible to work remotely within South Africa.
