About the role

Our client, a prominent financial institution, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Remote Senior Financial Risk Analyst to join their dynamic risk management team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to manage your workload from anywhere in Nigeria. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating various financial risks, including market risk, credit risk, operational risk, and liquidity risk. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing risk management strategies to safeguard the organization's financial health and ensure regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities: Identify, assess, and quantify financial risks across the organization, including market, credit, operational, and liquidity risks. Develop and implement robust risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures. Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of adverse market conditions. Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and report on risk exposures to senior management and regulatory bodies. Design and implement risk mitigation strategies, including hedging and diversification. Analyze financial data and market trends to identify potential risks and opportunities. Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements. Develop and maintain risk models and methodologies. Collaborate with business units to understand their risk profiles and provide guidance on risk management best practices. Perform due diligence on new financial products and services. Stay abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in financial risk management. Prepare comprehensive risk reports and presentations for executive leadership and the board of directors. Contribute to the development and implementation of capital adequacy assessments. Champion a strong risk culture throughout the organization. Qualifications: Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Professional certifications such as FRM, PRM, CFA, or equivalent are highly desirable. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in financial risk management within the banking or financial services sector. Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and banking operations. Expertise in quantitative analysis, financial modeling, and statistical techniques. Proficiency in risk management software and tools (e.g., SAS, R, Python, MATLAB). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and manage complex projects in a remote environment. Knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as Basel Accords is a significant advantage. Proven ability to interpret complex financial regulations and apply them effectively. Experience in developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies. This role is crucial for supporting the financial operations of our client, impacting areas such as those within Asaba, Delta, NG and beyond.
