About the role

Our client, a leading financial services institution, is looking for a highly experienced Remote Senior Information Security Engineer to bolster its cybersecurity defenses. This is a critical 100% remote role, where you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining advanced security solutions to protect sensitive data and systems. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of enterprise security architectures, threat mitigation strategies, and security best practices in a complex IT environment.

Responsibilities: Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level security solutions including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and endpoint security. Develop and implement security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Conduct security risk assessments, vulnerability management, and penetration testing activities. Monitor security infrastructure and analyze security logs and alerts to detect and respond to threats effectively. Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery. Develop and maintain security architecture documentation and diagrams. Evaluate and recommend new security technologies and solutions to enhance the organization's security posture. Collaborate with IT infrastructure and application development teams to integrate security into the system development lifecycle. Provide security guidance and support to other IT teams and business units. Develop and deliver security awareness training programs. Stay current with emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends. Manage security projects and initiatives from conception to completion. Ensure the security of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) if applicable. Develop and maintain security dashboards and reports for management. Contribute to the development and testing of disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in information security engineering. Proven expertise in designing and implementing enterprise security solutions. Strong knowledge of network security principles, cryptography, identity and access management (IAM), and data loss prevention (DLP). Experience with SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management, and threat intelligence platforms. Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and PCI DSS. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong leadership and project management capabilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or CEH are highly desirable. Experience working in a remote capacity is essential, demonstrating self-discipline and strong communication. This is a remote position requiring robust communication skills and the ability to operate effectively within a distributed team.
