About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Remote Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with specialized expertise in the Aerospace sector to join our globally distributed engineering team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from your preferred location while contributing to cutting-edge aerospace projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical systems, components, and structures for aerospace applications. You will play a critical role in the entire product lifecycle, from conceptualization through to production.

Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of mechanical systems, components, and structures for aerospace applications using CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, Siemens NX). Perform detailed engineering analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), and thermal analysis, to ensure design integrity and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, electrical engineers, and manufacturing specialists, to define design requirements and resolve issues. Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, test procedures, and reports. Oversee the prototyping, testing, and validation of designed components and systems, ensuring they meet rigorous aerospace standards. Identify opportunities for design optimization, cost reduction, and performance improvement. Stay current with the latest advancements in aerospace technology, materials, and manufacturing processes. Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning. Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements (e.g., FAA, EASA). Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical design issues encountered during development and production phases. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering, with a significant focus on the aerospace industry. Proficiency in advanced CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, or Siemens NX) and FEA/CFD analysis tools. Strong understanding of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry standards. Demonstrated experience with the design of complex systems such as propulsion, structures, or thermal management. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, international team environment. Proven ability to manage projects from conception to completion. Familiarity with aerospace certification processes is a plus. Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently.
