Our client, a leader in industrial automation solutions, is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Remote Senior Mechanical Engineer with a specialization in automation to join their esteemed engineering team. This fully remote position offers the opportunity to design, develop, and implement advanced mechanical systems and automated processes for a variety of clients worldwide. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles combined with deep expertise in automation technologies and system integration.
Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and sub-assemblies for automated machinery and equipment. Create detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and specifications using CAD software. Select appropriate materials, components, and technologies for automated solutions. Collaborate closely with electrical engineers, software developers, and control systems specialists to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and automated components. Troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical and automation issues during design, manufacturing, and field deployment. Conduct performance analysis, simulations, and testing of mechanical and automated systems. Develop and implement validation and verification procedures. Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including manuals and reports. Stay current with advancements in mechanical engineering, automation, robotics, and related fields. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on automation projects. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field. A Master's degree is preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 4 years focused on automation system design and implementation. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor). Strong understanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems. Experience with PLC programming, robotics, and motion control systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials science. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Experience with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, MATLAB) is a plus.
