Our client, a global leader in the petrochemical industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Engineer to join their remote engineering team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to critical projects. You will be instrumental in designing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex petrochemical processes. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and profitability of our client's operations. The role demands a deep understanding of chemical engineering principles, process simulation, and regulatory standards within the oil and gas sector.

Key Responsibilities: Develop and refine process designs for new petrochemical plants and modifications to existing facilities. Conduct feasibility studies, cost estimations, and technical evaluations for process projects. Utilize process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) to model, analyze, and optimize unit operations and entire plant systems. Perform process hazard analyses (PHAs), HAZOP studies, and LOPA to ensure operational safety and compliance. Develop and manage Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), equipment specifications, and operating procedures. Troubleshoot process upsets, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to improve performance and reliability. Collaborate with project managers, engineers from other disciplines, and site operations teams to ensure successful project execution. Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel and junior engineers. Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting the petrochemical sector. Contribute to the development of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within process operations. Ensure that all designs and modifications meet stringent safety, environmental, and quality standards. Mentor and train junior process engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in process engineering within the petrochemical or oil and gas industry. Extensive experience with process simulation software and process design packages. Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and reaction engineering. Proven experience in conducting Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and HAZOP studies. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote team environment. Familiarity with international codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API) is essential. P.Eng. or equivalent professional engineering registration is highly desirable.
