Remote Senior Project Manager - Software Development

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Remote Senior Project Manager to lead complex software development projects from inception to successful delivery. This role is crucial for driving innovation and ensuring the timely and budget-conscious completion of our software initiatives. You will be responsible for defining project scope, developing detailed project plans, managing cross-functional teams, and mitigating risks in a fully remote work environment. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of Agile methodologies, excellent leadership qualities, and a proven ability to deliver high-quality software products.

Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the full lifecycle of software development projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure. Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Develop and manage detailed project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets, ensuring adherence to project objectives. Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Manage and motivate cross-functional project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive remote work environment. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies, developing contingency plans as needed. Effectively communicate project status, key milestones, and potential issues to all stakeholders, including senior leadership. Ensure the quality and timely delivery of software products that meet or exceed client expectations. Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations where applicable. Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, reporting on key metrics. Continuously improve project management processes and methodologies. Mentor junior project managers and team members. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on software development projects. Demonstrated experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana, Trello). Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a remote setting. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Experience in risk management and change control. Proficiency in budgeting and financial management for projects. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
