Position Details

Title: Site Reliability Engineer
Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent
Hybrid: 3 in Office Days

Join Compass Digital as an Intermediate Site Reliability Engineer and help power the future of hospitality tech! You’ll design, build, and automate cloud‑native systems that are reliable, observable, and scalable—working with AWS, Go, TypeScript, serverless, containers, and cutting‑edge DevOps tools. Open to candidates across Canada, with preference for those near Toronto or Mississauga in a flexible hybrid setup.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in SRE, Software Engineering, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure.
• Strong foundational skills in software engineering, infrastructure, and automation.
• A desire to grow into senior engineering or technical leadership roles over time.

Responsibilities

• Work across observability, release engineering, automation, incident response, security, patch management, and SRE advocacy.
• Use the latest technologies in cloud and open‑source ecosystems to support product teams through solutions, self‑service capabilities, and platform guidance.
• Help grow and diversify our SRE team and discipline.
• Design, build, and maintain automation for infrastructure, monitoring, and operations.
• Write high‑quality, maintainable code to improve reliability and reduce toil.
• Evaluate and integrate open‑source and commercial tools to increase stability and insight.
• Document and share your work with the team and broader SRE community.
• Champion a culture of ownership, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Technology Stack

• Cloud Platforms: AWS (current primary), Azure, Google Cloud, or other cloud platforms
• Languages & Frameworks: TypeScript, Node.js, Go
• Monitoring: Dynatrace for infrastructure, service, and application monitoring
• CI/CD: CI/CD pipelines, feature flagging, and deployment automation
• Core Principles: Automation, containerization, repeatability, and visibility
