Overview of Role
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Research and Development Manager will lead our dynamic, diverse, and forward-thinking R&D team to advance our circular recycling technologies. You will own the development of the R&D roadmap, implementation of strategy in R&D and oversee operations of the team with key focuses on innovation, productivity and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-term R&D strategies and roadmap to advance recycling of complex textile blends.
- Establish innovative approaches for identifying, quantifying, and neutralizing impurities.
- Ensure efficient and safe day-to-day operation of the R&D laboratory.
- Collaborate with technical team leads to ensure smooth transition of new findings across teams.
- Prepare reports and presentations to clearly communicate key findings to leadership team.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to enhance the R&D team’s effectiveness and cohesion.
Candidate Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of related experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role, including managing a team.
- Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with organic chemistry, spectroscopic analysis, chromatographic separation and trace impurity management.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and rapidly develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable in both an independent and collaborative, fast-paced team environment.
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
