Research Engineer

About

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Engineer to join the GENOMAX sequencing platform (INSERM UMR_S 1109). This role is ideal for a hands-on scientist with strong expertise in molecular biology and next-generation sequencing (NGS) who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced research environment.

What You’ll Do

• Operate and manage state-of-the-art sequencing platforms (Illumina, PacBio)
• Plan, coordinate, and execute sequencing projects
• Develop, optimize, and implement experimental protocols
• Ensure platform performance, maintenance, and reagent management
• Analyze and present results; contribute to scientific communication
• Collaborate closely with bioinformatics and research teams
• Support quality management and continuous improvement initiatives

What You Bring

Technical Expertise

• Strong experience with NGS technologies (Illumina, PacBio preferred)
• Solid background in molecular biology (e.g., CRISPR-Cas9, cloning, mutagenesis)
• Proven hands-on laboratory skills and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience managing complex, multi-partner research projects

• Ability to work cross-functionally in multidisciplinary teams
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Proactive mindset with a focus on innovation and efficiency
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Position Details

• Full-time role based in Strasbourg, France
