Resident Engineer Civil

Qualifications And Experience

• Civil Engineer, Technician or Technologist with a minimum of 20 years' experience.
• SACPCMP qualification and ECSA registration would be advantageous.
• Proven experience in construction monitoring and site supervision of contract work involving civil, structural and mechanical interfaces, including at least one contract related to large diameter welded steel pipelines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Quick learner with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Possession of a valid driver's licence and own vehicle is essential, with a willingness to travel as required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Project as a minimum).
• Candidate will be based in Thabazimbi or Lephalale.

Duties And Responsibilities

• General project management.
• Contract administration and/or assistance.
• Monitoring and reporting on the contractor's programme and financial expenditure.
• Ensuring implementation of the engineer's quality monitoring plan and overseeing the contractor's quality control plan.
• Conducting site audits, inspections, quality control testing, and the approval or rejection of work.
• Measurement and certification of completed work, including cash flow forecasting.
• Facilitating regular site meetings with the contractor, employer and engineer, and maintaining accurate minutes.
• Issuing site instructions, variation orders, drawings, and other relevant documentation.
• Compiling reports and as-built data in accordance with the employer's standard requirements.
