Full Time Direct Hire

Salary is ~$120-145k + bonus

Lisle, IL 60532; 80% travel in the field across IL Districts 1, 2, and 3

Required:

• 7–15+ years of experience in DOT/resident engineering or construction management
• Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related
• Demonstrated DOT experience; resident engineering, cost estimating, and contract administration
• Experience supervising inspectors and managing field teams
• Strong demonstratable decision-making ownership
• Strong computer skills, office software, construction management software experience

Desired:

• Professional Engineering (PE) License
• IDOT / ISTHA / CDOT project experience
• IL Tollway experience
• IDOT systems, CMMS, eBuilder, CDOT database (familiarity preferred; training available)

Responsibilities:

• Reports To: P.E. – Owner / Project Manager
• Direct Reports: 3 (inspectors / field team members)
• Serve as Resident Engineer on state/local DOT projects across IL Districts 1, 2, and 3
• Onsite coordination with clients, contractors, and subconsultants
• Manage project schedule, budget, and contract changes; prepare pay estimates, RFIs, and change orders
• Supervise inspectors and oversee QA/QC on construction activities
• Maintain daily reports/logs and document construction activities
• Proactive problem-solving and communication with all project stakeholders (IDOT, Tollway, municipalities)
• Apply standard civil engineering techniques and analysis to project execution and documentation
