The A220 commercial aircraft program is looking for a Senior Engineering Business Management Leader to join our Engineering Services team based in Mirabel (Quebec, Canada). You will be part of the team responsible for managing engineering capacity, performance, strategy and competency development. The team is organized to promote cross-functional collaboration in an autonomous manner, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your challenges

  • Act as the accountable lead for the definition, integration, and performance of all business management processes (Budget, Workload/Workforce, Performance, Risk & Opportunity, Competency Management) with a focus on transnational alignment;
  • Serve as the Budget Owner for the Engineering Competence Centre, analyzing and determining strategies to ensure Engineering delivers per the Annual Operating Plan (AOP);
  • Provide the Leadership Team with critical landing point anticipation and high-stakes budget recommendations;
  • Deploy coherent strategies to optimize the global engineering footprint and ensure resource efficiency across international borders;
  • Guarantee that Engineering delivers world-class services by using predictive analytics and right-time decision-making tools;
  • Act as the Competency Owner for business management practices, upskilling the team and coaching the Engineering Leadership Team on advanced business steering principles;
  • Architect the subcontracting roadmap for the Engineering Competence Centre and procurement strategies in tight coordination with Airbus global teams;
  • Achieve full integration of business processes by harmonizing technical needs with Finance, HR, and Procurement policies across different nations and programs;
  • Optimize the use of the budget within Engineering by providing proactive recommendations to prevent overruns and maximize value;
  • Enable the Engineering Leadership Team to take timely, data-backed actions through high-fidelity anticipation of risks and opportunities;
  • Ensure that competency management is a strategic tool that readies the workforce for future program phases.

Your boarding pass

  • Minimum 12-15 years of progressive experience in Aerospace Engineering or Business Management, with a proven track record of owning a P&L or large-scale budget perimeter;
  • Leader recognized for bridging the gap between complex theory and operational reality through the design of robust, efficient frameworks;
  • Experience in transnational or multi-site organizations with high-density stakeholder interfaces;
  • Degree in Engineering, Finance, or Business Administration; an MBA or PMP is highly desirable;
  • Proven ability to challenge and align with Director level management across different cultures and functions;
  • Expert-level mastery of creating a "Single Source of Truth" using advanced analytics (e.g., Looker, Qlik, SAP);
  • Fully bilingual in French and English with the global mindset necessary to influence both local and international networks;
  • Creative problem-solver who exercises sound judgment in high-pressure, high-visibility situations.

Travel Required

This role may involve some travels for business (worldwide). Possible on-call duties during week-ends and/or holiday seasons.
