About the role

Role Overview

This is a position that combines Project Management and Project Planning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing multiple retrofit projects by while also developing detailed project schedules, work programmes, resource plans, and performance-tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Scheduling

  • Develop comprehensive project plans including timelines, resource allocations, labour requirements, procurement schedules, and budget forecasts.
  • Create detailed Gantt charts for larger projects, work breakdown structures (WBS), and weekly/monthly programmes.
  • Facilitate planning meetings with internal teams to align delivery timelines.
  • Continuously update and optimise schedules to account for progress, delays, or changes.
  • Monitor critical paths and identify risks early, proposing corrective actions.

2. Site Surveying & Project Scoping

  • Analyse site surveys from the design team to assess existing conditions and potential challenges in residential & commercial retrofits, construction projects and renewable installations.
  • Define project scope, technical requirements, and sequencing of works for energy upgrades.

3. Project Delivery & Coordination

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of retrofit and construction projects, ensuring works are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Coordinate in-house teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient task sequencing and resource use.
  • Lead cross-functional teams including electricians, insulation & ventilation crews, carpenters, window installers, and renewable energy specialists.

4. Stakeholder Communication

  • Maintain strong relationships with homeowners, acting as a trusted point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Liaise with SEAI technical personnel and internal engineering teams to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Manage weekly updates, task lists, and scheduling requirements with clients and internal teams.

5. Quality, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all installations—including insulation, ventilation, windows, mechanical & electrical works, and renewable energy systems—are completed to the highest standards.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, progress, and safety compliance.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation including site reports, NCRs, corrective actions, compliance certificates, and photo records.

6. Reporting & Risk Management

  • Provide regular progress updates to senior management, including milestone tracking, risk assessments, and planning forecasts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to support audits, inspections, and SEAI requirements.

Requirements

Essential

  • Third-level qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline OR 5+ years’ construction project management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction and retrofit processes.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage project schedules and resource plans.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities with a customer-centric approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project/Planning tools.
  • Full clean driver’s licence.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of SEAI standards, retrofit grant schemes, and renewable energy technologies.
  • Experience with Procore or similar project management software (training provided).
  • One Stop Shop (OSS) & Better Energy Communities (BEC) retrofit programme experience.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
