Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out detailed risk assessments across business units, identifying gaps and potential exposure.
  • Support the rollout and ongoing application of enterprise risk frameworks and related policies.
  • Monitor and evaluate risk registers, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and timely updates.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to address identified risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Track and analyse risk incidents, providing insight into trends and recommending improvements.
  • Compile and deliver structured monthly risk reports with clear, data-backed insights.
  • Act as a point of reference for risk-related queries, offering practical guidance to the business.
  • Contribute risk expertise to projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and governance standards.
  • Maintain ongoing engagement with internal teams to strengthen risk awareness and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Matric (Grade 12)
  • Relevant degree in Business or Risk Management (advantageous)
  • Registered member of Institute of Risk Management South Africa (or working towards membership)

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience within a risk-focused role
  • Exposure to regulated environments such as healthcare will be beneficial

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong ability to interpret and present data in a meaningful way
  • Confidence in engaging with stakeholders across different levels of the business
  • A practical approach to problem-solving and implementing solutions
  • Solid understanding of governance, compliance, and risk principles
  • High attention to detail with a structured way of working
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
