This position reports to the Regional Health & Safety Supervisor, requiring five years of relevant safety experience. Responsibilities include facilitating training meetings, ensuring Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are developed, and conducting site inspections. Regular travel across the Guelph/Kitchener/Brantford locations is essential. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license to succeed.

Ensure every Valard employee and contractor operates in a safe work environment through effective safety policies and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead safety resource presence at construction sites
• Organize weekly safety meetings and document minutes
• Support supervisors with Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
• Assist in investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions
• Regularly conduct safety inspections and drills

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in a relevant field
• Five years of field safety experience needed
• Valid driver’s license required for site travel
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Familiarity with Health & Safety certifications is an asset
