Job Description

As part of its growth and expansion in the European market, particularly in France, Distech Controls is recruiting a Pre-Sales Engineer (SSE) to join the French team from the Lyon region (69), based at the EMEA headquarters in Brignais. This role reports to the European Pre-Sales Engineer Manager based at the EMEA headquarters in Brignais. You will play a strategic role as an SSE, serving as the technological reference and architect for Distech Controls solutions to support the sales team and the integrator ecosystem (integrators, OEMs, digital service companies, etc.) in adopting Distech Controls solutions.

Main Missions

  • In collaboration with the sales team, you will be responsible for the technological relationship with clients and will need to perform occasional on-site actions.
  • You will support the sales team during presentations and demonstrations of Distech Controls solutions to our clients.
  • You will lead physical or remote meetings for integrators, design offices, and end clients on technical evolutions, solution design, and new product introductions.
  • You will support and assist integrators on initial projects, specific strategic projects, as well as projects with new products to ensure good execution and project success.
  • You will design content and lead information and presentation sessions in collaboration with the sales team across the country.
  • The experience gained through your relationship with product management and R&D teams will allow you to share your skills with the sales, technical support, and training teams.
  • Your exchanges and experience with clients allow you to be an important player in the evolution and development of future products with internal R&D and product management teams.
  • In collaboration with the marketing and communication department, you will be actively involved in commercial events and product launches (webinars, trade shows, roadshows, partner/client meetings...).

Minimum Requirements

Required Organizational Skills:

  • You are an engineer (M/F) or equivalent with 5 years of experience in Building Management Systems (BMS) and their automation systems (BACS).
  • You have skills in regulation and automation programming for buildings. Skills with Distech Controls solutions are a plus.
  • You are proficient in supervision software and BMS communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, etc.). Niagara® skills are a plus.
  • You have knowledge of IoT and IT protocols, API, REST, JSON, MQTT, IoT Hub, Node-RED, Postman, etc.
  • You have knowledge of computer networks and cybersecurity standards.

Required Organizational Skills:

  • You manage projects autonomously and in an organized manner, involving the necessary departments/people for project success.
  • You have a synthetic mind that allows you to connect field-identified needs with solution improvements in relation to product management and R&D teams.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both oral and written. A good level of English is essential to thrive in the organization (various meetings and regular interactions in English).
  • You are recognized for your pedagogical approach, your ability to work in a team, and to manage internal and external priorities, such as managing client emergency situations.
  • You are motivated by commercial relationships and sales actions in promoting Distech Controls solutions to our clients during various events.
