Lost Barrel Brewing, an award-winning craft brewery located on a picturesque 70-acre horse farm in Middleburg, Virginia’s Hunt Country, seeks a Sales and Events Manager to grow special events and catering services. Lost Barrel Brewing offers craft beer, hard seltzers, chef-driven cuisine, live entertainment, and memorable events with a taproom, porch, and scenic grounds. LoCo Kitchen, part of Lost Barrel, provides upscale catering and event hosting in Sterling, Virginia.
Position Summary
The Sales and Events Manager drives and expands on-site and off-site catering sales and creates and coordinates on-site events. This hybrid role combines sales, relationship building, and event execution in a brewery and hospitality environment. The position is part-time (~20 hours/week) with growth potential to full-time.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new catering, private, corporate, and special event opportunities through networking and outreach
- Manage sales inquiries, proposals, contracts, and close event and catering sales
- Develop creative event concepts, promotions, themed experiences, and partnerships to increase bookings and revenue
- Coordinate event planning details and transition execution to operations teams
- Liaise between clients and internal teams for seamless event execution
- Collaborate with leadership and staff on event programming, seasonal offerings, and promotions
- Use CRM and event management tools to track leads, sales, contracts, bookings, and metrics
- Identify partnerships and marketing opportunities to enhance brand visibility and revenue
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years experience in sales, event management, hospitality, catering, or related business development with lead generation and sales closing
- Proven client relationship building and sales process management
- Strong organizational, project management, negotiation, and relationship skills
- Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Creative mindset for unique event concepts and revenue opportunities
- Proficient with CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Must be at least 21 years old
Preferred
- Experience in hospitality, catering, private events, weddings, or venue sales
- Background in craft beverage, brewery, restaurant, or event industry
- Established relationships in Northern Virginia event, wedding, or corporate community
Compensation
Competitive hourly pay plus commission on catering bookings and event sales, employee discounts, and product perks. Potential to transition to full-time with expanded responsibilities and compensation.
