Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Salesforce Architect to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of Salesforce solutions across the enterprise. This role is responsible for defining scalable architecture, ensuring best practices, and aligning Salesforce capabilities with business objectives.
The Salesforce Architect will operate at the intersection of business strategy, technology architecture, and delivery execution, enabling digital transformation and customer-centric innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Solution Design
- Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds:
- Sales Cloud
- Service Cloud
- Experience Cloud
- Marketing Cloud (advantageous)
- Define scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures.
- Lead the development of:
- Data models
- Integration frameworks
- Identity and access architecture
- Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Design end-to-end Salesforce solutions across multiple clouds:
- Technical Leadership
- Provide architectural governance across all Salesforce initiatives.
- Guide development teams on:
- Apex, LWC, and integrations
- Best practices and coding standards
- Conduct design reviews and enforce architectural standards.
- Mentor developers, consultants, and junior architects.
- Integration & Data Strategy
- Architect integrations with external systems using:
- REST/SOAP APIs
- Middleware platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi)
- Define data migration and data governance strategies.
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance.
- Architect integrations with external systems using:
- Platform Governance & Optimization
- Establish Salesforce governance frameworks:
- DevOps processes (CI/CD pipelines)
- Release management
- Environment strategy
- Ensure platform scalability and performance optimization.
- Identify and mitigate technical debt.
- Establish Salesforce governance frameworks:
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with:
- Business stakeholders
- Product owners
- Delivery teams
- Translate business vision into technical roadmaps.
- Provide advisory on Salesforce capabilities and limitations.
- Work closely with:
- Security & Compliance
- Define and enforce security architecture:
- Role hierarchy
- Sharing rules
- Field-level security
- Ensure compliance with:
- GDPR / POPIA (for South Africa context)
- Enterprise security standards
- Define and enforce security architecture:

- Stay current with Salesforce releases and new features.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend adoption.
- Drive innovation using:
- AI (Salesforce Einstein)
- Automation
- Low-code/no-code capabilities
Required Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in:
- Apex
- Lightning Web Components (LWC)
- Visualforce (legacy support)
- Deep understanding of:
- Salesforce data model
- Security model
- Multi-tenant architecture
- Integration experience:
- APIs (REST/SOAP)
- Event-driven architecture
- Experience with DevOps tools:
- Git
- CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Copado, Gearset, Jenkins)
Salesforce Platform Expertise
- Proven experience across multiple Salesforce clouds:
- Sales Cloud
- Service Cloud
- Experience Cloud
- Exposure to:
- Marketing Cloud (desirable)
- Financial Services Cloud / Industry Clouds (advantageous)
Architecture Skills
- Enterprise architecture patterns:

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 8–12 years of IT experience
- Minimum 5+ years in Salesforce architecture or senior Salesforce roles
- Proven track record delivering enterprise-scale Salesforce implementations
- Experience working in:
- Financial services / insurance (highly advantageous)
- Large, complex organisations
Certifications (Highly Preferred)
- Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) (ideal)
- Salesforce Certified Application Architect
- Salesforce Certified System Architect
- Salesforce Certified Platform Developer II
- Salesforce Certified Integration Architecture Designer
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Computer Science
- Information Technology
- Engineering or related field
- Postgraduate qualifications are advantageous
