Purpose and Objectives

We are seeking an experienced Cloud Development Operations Engineer with deep expertise in AWS, strong proficiency in Terraform, and advanced scripting skills in Python. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience with Gardener Kubernetes, modern CI/CD tooling, and cloud‑native automation. You will design, build, and optimize infrastructure and delivery pipelines that support secure, scalable, and highly available systems.


General Responsibilities

Infrastructure Engineering & Automation

  • Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform following IaC best practices.
  • Manage and optimize AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and related components.
  • Implement automated provisioning workflows for cloud and Kubernetes environments.

CI/CD Engineering & DevOps Tooling

  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines using ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Tekton, and FluxCD.

  • Support automated builds, artifact packaging, security scanning, and multi‑environment deployments.

  • Automate testing, deployment, and environment provisioning using:

    Testing & Quality Gates

    • PyTest, Playwright, JUnit, Selenium
    • SonarQube, Trivy, Anchore, Clair

    Container Build & Artifact Management

    • Docker, Kaniko
    • Harbor, Artifactory, Nexus, AWS ECR

    Infrastructure & Deployment Automation

    • Terraform, Terragrunt, Packer
    • Helm, Kustomize, Jsonnet

    Observability & Governance

    • Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, ELK
    • OpenTelemetry
    • OPA/Gatekeeper, Conftest

Kubernetes & Gardener Operations

  • Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot Gardener Kubernetes clusters and landscapes.
  • Collaborate with platform and application teams to optimize Kubernetes workloads.

Monitoring, Reliability & Troubleshooting

  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex cloud, networking, and deployment issues.

Required Experience

  • Hands‑on experience with Gardener Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Minimum 7 years in Cloud Development Operations, DevOps, or Cloud Engineering.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and IaC best practices.
  • High proficiency in Python, plus Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as ArgoCD or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Deep expertise in AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch).
  • Experience with HashiCorp Vault or similar secret management tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud and distributed systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Experience

  • DevOps experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
  • Experience with SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), or related SAP cloud services.
  • Understanding of SAP cloud architecture and integration patterns.
  • Knowledge of Ansible or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with Crossplane for cloud resource orchestration.
  • AWS certifications (DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect).

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Targeted annual combined range: $131,000 – $271,600 USD (inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target).
  • Actual offer will depend on education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, and other factors.
  • Variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount; actual payout depends on company and personal performance.
