SAP Utilities DevOps Engineer (m/f/d)

Location: Korbach | Remote

About the Role

Our core energy industry processes are constantly evolving – technically, regulatorily, and organizationally. In this role, you will actively shape the further development of our SAP IS-U landscape. You will combine development and operations in the spirit of a modern DevOps approach, ensure stable systems, and simultaneously drive innovation. You will work closely with the central processes of the energy industry and make a direct contribution to the successful implementation of the energy transition.

Your Contribution to the Energy Future

  • You will implement technical requirements with ABAP / ABAP OO and continuously develop existing solutions in the SAP IS-U environment.
  • You will work along core energy industry processes, e.g., billing, market communication, EDM, and device management, and contribute your expertise here.
  • You will critically analyze existing developments, prepare them for the target architecture, and actively support migrations, tests, and technical adjustments.
  • You will develop, maintain, and optimize interfaces (IDoc, RFC, Webservices, REST APIs), thereby contributing to the stability and further development of our market processes.
  • You will technically implement regulatory requirements and ensure their sustainable integration into our system landscape.
  • In close cooperation with specialist departments, service providers, and platform partners, you will continuously develop our system landscape.
  • You will work in agile development and operational models and actively contribute to a DevOps-oriented way of working – from development through testing to stable operation.
  • Ideally, you will have knowledge of SAP Fiori / UI5 as well as modern SAP architectures and integration concepts.

What We Expect From You

  • Completed degree in computer science (business or general) or a comparable qualification – alternatively, an IT vocational training with several years of relevant practical experience.
  • Several years of experience in SAP development, ideally in the SAP IS-U environment of the energy industry.
  • Enjoyment of agile collaboration, short feedback loops, and continuous improvement.
  • A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented approach – even with complex technical and functional requirements.
  • Willingness to take responsibility in the DevOps context and to support applications holistically.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as a high degree of service and customer orientation.

Requirements

  • Abgeschlossenes Studium der (Wirtschafts-)Informatik oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation – alternativ eine IT-Berufsausbildung mit mehrjähriger einschlägiger Praxiserfahrung
  • Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der SAP-Entwicklung, idealerweise im SAP IS-U Umfeld der Energiewirtschaft

  • Ausgeprägte Kommunikations- und Teamfähigkeit sowie eine hohe Service- und Kundenorientierung

Responsibilities

  • Fachliche Anforderungen werden von Dir mit ABAP / ABAP OO umgesetzt und bestehende Lösungen im SAP IS-U Umfeld kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt
  • Du arbeitest entlang energiewirtschaftlicher Kernprozesse, z. B. Abrechnung, Marktkommunikation, EDM und Geräteverwaltung und bringst hier deine Expertise ein
  • Bestehende Entwicklungen analysierst Du kritisch, bereitest sie auf die Zielarchitektur vor und unterstützt aktiv bei Migrationen, Tests und technischen Anpassungen
  • Du entwickelst, betreust und optimierst Schnittstellen (IDoc, RFC, Webservices, REST APIs) und trägst so zur Stabilität und Weiterentwicklung unserer Marktprozesse bei
  • Regulatorische Anforderungen setzt Du technisch um und sorgst für eine nachhaltige Integration in unsere Systemlandschaft
  • In enger Zusammenarbeit mit Fachbereichen, Dienstleistern und Plattformpartnern entwickelst Du unsere Systemlandschaft kontinuierlich weiter.
  • Du arbeitest in agilen Entwicklungs- und Betriebsmodellen und bringst Dich aktiv in eine DevOps-orientierte Arbeitsweise ein – von der Entwicklung über Tests bis hin zum stabilen Betrieb.
