What this role is all about
The Scrum Master/Agile Project Manager leads cross‑functional teams in delivering high‑value solutions through Agile methodologies, while managing project scope, timelines, and stakeholder expectations. This role champions a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement—balancing servant leadership with structured project governance to drive successful outcomes with an overall aim to support Beem’s aspirations to be the best “digital first and people first” financial institution for British Columbia.
What you’ll do
Agile Leadership
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Coach team members on Agile best practices, scrum practices and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with product managers/owner to manage product backlogs and prioritize work
- Remove impediments and shield the team from external distractions
- Track sprint progress using tools like Jira
- Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and accountability
Project Planning & Execution
- Develop project plans that incorporate elements from both Agile and Waterfall methodologies as appropriate, adapting project management methodologies to achieve the desired outcomes.
- Updates, reports and communicates project progress on a regular and timely basis to appropriate stakeholders.
- Manage risks, issues, dependencies and budget.
- Coordinates and performs quality assurance testing and post‑implementation reviews to assess success levels, gather feedback and recommend any related process improvements.
- Ensure alignment with organizational goals and compliance standards.
Business Analysis & Team Coordination
- Apply best practices and recommend process improvements in accordance with established business objectives.
- Balance the need for flexibility (Agile) with structured planning (Waterfall).
- Highlights and facilitates actions to uncover and resolve root causes of issues.
- Partners with internal departments to gain understanding of processes, policies, procedures and requirements for each project, and work closely with cross‑functional teams, including developers, designers, and QA.
Collaboration & Leadership
- Assists and collaborates with other departments in applying the Project Management Office (PMO) standards as required.
- Proactively collaborates with vendors, departments and subject matter experts to resolve anticipated or unexpected issues and ensure the smooth implementation of deliverables.
- Provides leadership and guidance as necessary to team members.
- Coaches, mentors and provide informal feedback to other employees as needed on related topics.
- Foster a collaborative environment that encourages transparency and open communication.
What you’ll bring
- Post‑secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field
- 5 or more years of related experience
- Strong understanding of Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid Agile frameworks
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar
- Certification in Agile (e.g., CSM, PMI‑ACP, SAFe) and PMP or equivalent preferred

- Annual salary range: $92,000 – $115,000.
- Pay is based on your skills, experience, and the value you bring, with annual salary reviews.
