Management Leadership role for Weld Engineering

Position Description

• Management Leadership role for Weld Engineering to include NBU Weld Engineers
• Provide Assistance on managing departmental budgets such as program support, NRE, OME, DCI, etc.
• Provide and manage technical support for welding process training and validation for production welders and welding processes at GDLS Lima Operations
• Provide and manage training and instructions to production employees in Powered Industrial Vehicle Operations and Overhead Crane Operations.at GDLS Lima Operations
• Provide technical interface with internal and external customers which include representatives from the Government, General Dynamics Land Systems Divisional office, and suppliers
• Provide and manage product design interpretation, non-conformance dispositions, engineering changes, root cause analysis, and production problem reports
• Provide and manage product design definition including development and maintenance of flat file and contractual requirements.
• Ensure all Liaison Engineering labor charging practices are accurate and meet GDLS standards
• Coach and mentor NBU engineers through team-based coordination of technical tasks
• Manage safe work practices and maintain safe work environment

Position Requirements

• Bachelor degree in engineering field required
• Minimum of 10 years related experience required
• US Citizenship required
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DOD Secret Security Clearance
• Must be able to meet Anthropometric Size Requirements (ASR) for vehicle safe entry
• Functional understanding of manufacturing, product design / GD&T, and configuration management
• Able to perform problem solving and root cause analysis
• Demonstrated program / project management skills and organization
• Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
• Proficient with MS software required and Creo or equivalent highly desired
• Occasional travel required
