Security Architecture Manager

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Masters degree preferred
• Over 7 years of experience in information security
• At least 5 years in solution architecture
• Experience with diverse technical configurations and processing environments
• Proven ability to develop effective solutions for complex business challenges
• Familiarity with multi-platform environments and their operational/security aspects
• Comprehensive knowledge of technical architecture components
• Understanding of common enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, ArchiMate, FEAF, and MODAF
• Capability to relate policies and procedures to architecture controls for foundational services
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience in managing and motivating teams across varying platforms and environments
• Confidence and leadership experience in cross-functional project teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey technical information engagingly

Your responsibilities are:

• Build, develop, staff, and oversee the Security Architecture team
• Create and maintain a vision and strategy for enterprise-wide security architecture initiatives to bolster cybersecurity
• Consult with IT technical services and business teams to design secure architectural frameworks
• Analyze standards and controls defined by the Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) team, and engage relevant teams to understand business requirements and advise on security controls
• Develop and uphold security reference architectures for standardized and consistent secure solution designs
• Formulate and implement architectural policies, standards, procedures, and templates for architectural design
• Cultivate a culture of ownership regarding architecture standards and design patterns
• Collaborate with external partners to educate and advise on controls, ensuring adoption and inclusion of secure coding practices
• Establish security design review processes, conducting threat modeling for complex and high-risk projects
• Effectively communicate information security initiatives to internal staff, business customers, and senior/executive leadership as well as external vendors as needed
• Lead and manage a team of Information Security Architects, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and prioritizing tasks
• Work alongside the Security Awareness Specialist to develop and execute educational programs, including awareness seminars and workshops
• Evaluate the effectiveness of architectural decisions to ensure best practices support the companys strategic goals
• Utilize professional expertise to review and assess vendor proposals for alignment with architectural guidelines and investment strategies
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required

Join our West Michigan team as the Manager of Info Security Architecture in a hybrid role based in Grand Rapids. This newly created position allows you to lead the development of our security architecture team. We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 to $200,000 per year, with work hours from 8 AM to 5 PM.
